Who says Black Friday is only for stores? Downtown Bowling Green is home to great restaurants, pubs and coffee houses, many of which program live music.
Of course, our downtown stores have an incredible variety of unique merchandise and lots of wonderful holiday bargains.
This year, we're turning up the volume on Black and Blues Friday with the first ever, district-wide Ugly Sweater Contest. Wear your favorite holiday regalia--the uglier the better-to a participating business and you may win prizes, including $50 in Downtown Dollars gift certificates. *The Bowling Green Arts Council is hosting the Art Slam 2011 Gallery at 133 E. Wooster Street. The gallery is open from noon to 9pm today and features live acoustic music by Bruce Lilly from 4-7. You can also catch Bruce Lillie & the Booster Rockets from 10pm-1am tonight at Grumpy Dave's.

The Ugly Sweater Contest
To participate in the contest, all you have to do is wear your favorite ugly holiday sweater into one of the businesses listed above. Each business will award its own first round prize. Then you can be entered into the 2nd round of the contest, for the chance to win $50 in Downtown Dollars gift certificates. The 2nd round winner will be determined by voters on the Downtown Bowling Green facebook page. All photos for voting must be received by 9 a.m. on Saturday November 26.
