Herb Butter

Calico Sage & Thyme

Ingredients

butter or margarine
snipped fresh herbs: Use chives, tarragon, dill, parsley, thyme, basil, or marjoram
lemon juice (optional)

Procedure

Use butter or margarine - allow to come to room temperature. Add chopped fresh herbs as your taste desires - chives, tarragon, dill, parsley, basil, marjoram and thyme work well.

Use one herb per stick of butter OR mix 2 or 3 herbs to your taste (thyme and chives, for example). Blend well with fork. Add a little lemon juice and herb salt if you wish. Cover and store in small containers and freeze.

Use basil butter on hot pasta, tarragon butter on hot bread, thyme butter on carrots, etc.
